Greg has been assisting investors since 1993 and is one of the Managing Principals of Cascadia Wealth Management. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) and a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®). Greg is a Registered Representative with Cetera Advisors LLC, member FINRA, SIPC.
Greg’s financial planning practice emphasizes a conservative investment management approach and he believes clients are best served by utilizing active money management strategies that are designed to generate returns while reducing the level of risk that is found in most stock and bond investments. The goal is to provide investment programs that generate returns relative to the amount of risk that is taken. This strategy allows conservative and risk conscious investors the ability to comfortably allocate a higher portion of their investment portfolios to the segments of the financial markets that have historically generated the highest returns. Past performance is not indicative of future returns.
Greg lives with his wife, Debbie, who is a stay-at-home mother, and two daughters in the Tigard area. Greg is an avid racquetball player and an erratic golfer.
Greg offers investment advisory services through Cascadia Advisory Services, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor. Robert is passionate about the financial lives of his clients. Their hard earned money represents years of toil, so protecting and growing their wealth is a responsibility he does not take lightly. In addition to his financial advisory practice, he is one of the three owners of Cascadia Wealth Management, serves as an instructor for local retirement planning classes, sponsors educational workshops and chairs the firm’s investment committee.
Robert lives in West Linn with his wife of 29 years. They have one son and four daughters, all of which are now adults. He says “It takes a lot of love to raise a child, but it also takes a little money.” He likes to joke that after 6 sets of braces (yes, one of them did it twice – what luck), 31 cumulative years of piano lessons and 3 kids in college at once, that he has a pretty good appreciation for the value of a dollar.
Robert has achieved the industry designations of Certified Wealth Strategist (CWS®) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®). He also holds Series, 7, 6, 63 and 65 securities registrations. Robert offers investment advisory services through Cascadia Advisory Services, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor. Securities are offered through Cetera Advisors LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, a broker/dealer. Cascadia Advisory Services, LLC and Cascadia Wealth Management are not associated with Cetera Advisors LLC.

Why do I help people with personal finance? The recession of 2008 was a major setback for hundreds of millions of people, including my family. Seeing this first hand opened my eyes to how interconnected every financial decision is. Unfortunately, with how complex the financial world is, knowing what is best for your overall financial plan is highly challenging.
My mission is to help clients, students, and the people of the community weed through these complexities and make sound, educated financial decisions that lead them to financial independence.
How do I educate people to make sound financial decisions? A massive misunderstanding is that financial planning is built purely off numbers, and equations. The tendency for advisors and clients is to focus on products, fees, and rates of return, which leads to decisions made in isolated silos. I believe this is not the way one should approach planning.
First, we strive to understand what’s most important to our client, and what they want to accomplish in life; we must define their definition of “wealth”. Once this is understood, my purpose is to guide the client through the planning process and help them navigate the financial world to reach their definition of wealth. This includes full transparency and education on the fees, products, and tools available for the plan.
What is wealth to me?
Educating the world on how to make sound financial decisions. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends either by being outside, or playing sports.

I serve my clients as a trusted partner adding discipline and objectivity to their financial decision making. Utilizing advanced techniques in financial planning and portfolio construction, I help my clients discover a clear path to pursuing their goals. I have extensive experience helping people through major life transitions, especially job changes and divorce.
My practice is built on 5 fundamentals:
Goal-based financial planning. The plan we develop together serves as the basis for designing your cash flow and investment strategies. The plan is unique to you and is a living document, updated at least annually to reflect changes in your situation and priorities.
Wealth preservation strategies. My investment approach is designed to weather volatile markets with the potential to participate in upward trends. The last few years have told us that traditional diversification of asset classes alone is an inadequate strategy (Investing involves risk including the potential loss of principal. No strategy can assure success or protect against loss).
Independence. Since I represent no proprietary products, I can make recommendations to you without artificial restrictions. My only constraints are that the investments are appropriate for you and consistent with your goals.
Team approach. In addition to my colleagues at Cascadia Wealth Management, my strategic partners consist of Cetera Advisors LLC, Member FINRA/SIPC (a leading independent broker-dealer), a national insurance broker and a broad network of exceptional attorneys, CPAs and other professionals.
Service. I believe in the principle of "Kaizen", that is, continuous improvement, and never being satisfied with the status quo. To that end, I will always look for ways to improve my communication with you, the quality of investments that I recommend, and to continuously upgrade my knowledge.
I will utilize all my resources to help you make smart choices about your money. I only make recommendations that are in the best interest of my clients, without regard to my benefit. I will not provide advice in areas that I am not qualified to do so.
I currently hold the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations and the CDFA professional designation. I am also licensed for life and health insurance in California (license #0G56932) and the state of Washington.
As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst, I help clients, mediators and attorneys understand the potential long-term impacts of various asset division scenarios. This valuable analysis can be used to protect those with large asset bases or who may not be sophisticated in financial matters and want to create the best possible outcome of the divorce. My practice area of divorce focuses on the Tri-Valley area of the East Bay: Danville, Alamo, Walnut Creek, San Ramon, and Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda.
Prior to serving as a wealth manager, I was a senior executive in global consulting firms Ernst & Young and Capgemini. Serving demanding clients with tight schedules while providing the highest level of service are hallmarks of my tenure there.
My background in management consulting and changing careers has helped me understand the concerns of people changing jobs. What do they do with their 401(k) and 403(b) plans? How should they invest going forward?
Personally, I am a life-long outdoor enthusiast, and typically spend my weekends working in the yard, cycling or hiking. I have been married since 1986 and a Danville resident since 1987, have two amazing daughters, and a rambunctious Vizsla. Other activities include Past President, Rotary Club of Danville, Leadership San Ramon Valley and 15 years coaching competitive youth soccer. I enjoy reading just about anything, cooking, good wine and spending time with friends and family.
